Privacy Policy

Welcome to WanLyzer! This Privacy Policy explains how WanLyzer ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you access or use our website and services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password for login purposes.
  • Uploaded Audit Logs: We collect the CSV files containing Microsoft audit logs that you choose to upload to the Service for analysis ("Uploaded Content").
  • Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid tier, payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not directly collect or store your full credit card information. Stripe provides us with information related to your transaction (like subscription status). Stripe's use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.
  • Usage and Log Data: We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and actions you take within the Service. We use this for security monitoring, debugging, service operation, and basic analytics to improve the Service.
  • IP-to-Location Data: During log analysis, we may pass IP addresses found within your Uploaded Content to a third-party service to enrich the logs with approximate geographic location data (country, region) and ISP information. This enriched data is stored only as part of the processed logs associated with your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • To process your Uploaded Content and present the analysis results to you.
  • To manage your account, including processing payments (via Stripe) and sending administrative communications.
  • To improve the Service, including monitoring usage, analyzing trends, and fixing bugs.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including preventing fraud and abuse.
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support via [email protected].
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as:
    • Backend infrastructure, database, and authentication providers.
    • Payment processing (Stripe).
    • IP-to-Location services.
These providers only have access to the information necessary to perform their functions and are obligated to protect your information.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We rely on the security measures provided by our infrastructure partners and payment processors. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

  • Uploaded CSV Files: Original uploaded CSV files are deleted from our temporary storage after the necessary information has been extracted and processed for display within the Service.
  • Processed Log Data: The log data derived from your uploads is stored and associated with your account. This data remains available to you via the dashboard until you choose to delete the corresponding file record using the "Delete" option on the dashboard.
  • Account Information: We retain your account information (email) as long as your account is active.
  • Account Deletion: To request the deletion of your entire account and associated data, please contact us at [email protected]. We will process your request in accordance with applicable law. Please note that some data may be retained for legal or security purposes (e.g., basic transaction records).

6. Cookies

We use necessary cookies to provide core Service functionality, such as keeping you logged in. We do not currently use third-party cookies for analytics or advertising. You may be able to configure your browser to block cookies, but this may affect the functionality of the Service.

7. Your Choices
